Cosmic Poetry

If this planet could not contain us,
And the universe would not retain us,
Would the galaxy ordain us?
Would the cosmos, ancient and vast,
Swallow us whole, or welcome us?
What greater solace can be found,
Then being part of which you gaze and wonder?
What greater compassion can be learned,
Then knowing you are amongst your brethren,
In this miniscule time called existence?
What greater living can be accomplished,
By knowing you’ve already succeeded?
What greater feeling to experience this with,
Than love.

To the one I share all my ramblings with…
